I am a professional watercolor artist & jewelry designer living the creative life on the Carolina coast. My artwork is in private collections across the USA, the United Kingdom & Australia. I am best known for my use of color, composition and design. As a creative spirit - artist, writer & musician, I am most creatively inspired when I'm listening to music or at the beach. I began painting in 2005. I'm studying art & being mentored by the award winning NC artist Rusty Hughes who studied art extensively in Europe. My artwork is currently being shown at the Sunset River Marketplace Gallery. One of my larger paintings, “Highway to Hell”, was one of 64 pieces of art accepted into the Waccamaw Art Guild 2007 Juried Art Show at The Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum. I am enchanted with watercolor as a medium and I love to experiment & play. While I can enjoy & appreciate realistic artwork, personally, I have no desire to paint in that style. I can't really categorize my style, but I can tell you that I like to do abstract & impressionistic expressions. I also enjoy playing around with geometrics shapes in my work. Some of my artwork flows out of me in "stream of consciousness" painting and other times I'll get ideas that I plan out & try to express on paper. Most of my work is from my imagination. I'm trying to do some paintings using reference photos & the end result is a painting that is my interpretation of the photos. Comments and constructive criticism of my artwork is always encouraged and appreciated. I grow as an artist from comments & reactions to my work. I enjoy sharing my ideas & techniques with others. I also learn a lot from other artists sharing their creative journey with me. Feel free to add me as a friend & I will add you back.
